We understand that starting therapy or seeking support can come with many questions.

Below are answers to some of the most common enquiries about our services.

Do you offer online or in-person appointments?

At present, all appointments are provided via secure Telehealth/online video sessions. This allows us to support clients in a flexible and accessible way.

Who do you work with?

We provide psychological therapy and assessment services for children, adolescents, and adults. We welcome and affirm people of all identities.

What concerns do you support clients with?

We support a range of mental health and wellbeing concerns, including but not limited to ADHD assessments, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, stress/burnout, trauma, OCD, attachment/relationship concerns, cultural concerns, emotional regulation difficulties, neurodivergence — ADHD and autism, adjustment difficulties, and perfectionism.

Which evidence-based therapies do you use?

We tailor treatment to each client’s individual needs, goals, and preferences. Therapy is collaborative and may incorporate approaches such as:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-E)

  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed approaches

  • Metacognitive Therapy (MCT)

  • Schema Therapy

  • Solution-Focused Therapy

  • Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT)

What can I expect in my first session?

The first session is an opportunity to discuss your current concerns, background, and goals. We will explore what has brought you to therapy and begin developing a plan that feels supportive for you.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is required to book an appointment privately. However, some funding streams or third-party services may require referral documentation.

Do you offer Medicare rebates?

Medicare rebates are not currently available for appointments.

What funding options do you accept?

We currently accept:

  • Private-payment

  • National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS; self-managed and plan-managed)

  • Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA)

  • Victims of Crime (FAS; previously VOCAT)

  • WorkCover (VIC)

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

  • Private health funds

What concession cards do you accept?

To receive a concession discount, you must have one of the following:

  • Health Care Card

  • Commonwealth Seniors Health Card

  • Pensioner Concession Card

  • Veterans' Affairs Pensioner Concession Card

  • Veterans' Affairs Gold Card

  • Carer Card (We Care)

  • Student Card

How do telehealth appointments work?

Appointments are conducted via a secure online video platform. Prior to your appointment, you will receive a link and instructions for joining the session. You can attend appointments from the comfort and privacy of your own space using a phone, tablet, or computer with stable internet access.

Are telehealth appointments effective?

Research has shown that telehealth psychology can be highly effective for many mental health concerns and offers a flexible, accessible alternative to in-person therapy.

What if I experience technical difficulties during my session?

If technical difficulties occur, we will attempt to reconnect through video or continue the session via phone where appropriate.

How long are therapy sessions?

Standard therapy sessions are 50 minutes long unless otherwise arranged.

What are your fees?

Please refer to the Services & Fees page for session fees and assessment pricing.

Do you offer concession rates?

Yes, reduced fees are available for eligible concession card holders. Please refer to the Services & Fees page and/or contact us for further information.

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that appointments sometimes need to be cancelled or rescheduled. To help us maintain fairness to all clients, we kindly ask that you provide at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to make any changes to your booking.

Late cancellation fees apply as follows:

Cancellations made between 48 and 24 hours before your appointment: 50% of the full session fee

​

Cancellations made within 24 hours of your appointment, or failure to attend without notice (“no-show”): 100% of the full session fee

​

Please note that cancellation fees are not claimable through Medicare or private health insurance.

How do I cancel or reschedule an appointment?

Appointments can be cancelled or rescheduled online or by contacting us via email/phone. Please provide as much notice as possible.

Is my information confidential?

Your privacy and confidentiality are taken seriously. Information shared is kept confidential in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988, which mandates strict standards for how health practitioners collect, use, disclose, and store sensitive client information. Psychologists must also abide by the Psychology Board of Australia's Code of Conduct.

 

There are some limits to confidentiality, including situations involving serious risk of harm or where disclosure is required by law. These limits will be discussed during the consent process.

Do you provide reports or letters?

Reports, support letters, referral letters, forms, and other non-session services may be available upon request. Additional fees may apply depending on the complexity and time required.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

Therapy can be a supportive space to better understand your experiences, develop coping strategies, improve wellbeing, and work toward meaningful goals. If you are unsure whether our services are the right fit, please contact us to discuss your needs.

What if I need urgent support?

Our practice is not a crisis service. If you require immediate support or are at risk of harm, please contact:​
